Sculptural composition with the arch "Friendship of Peoples" is the central subject Khreshchatik Park (the former Merchants garden). Arch appeared in 1982 in preparation for the celebration of 1500 anniversary of Kiev, replacing the summer stage.

Peoples' Friendship Monument to Commemorate the reunification of Ukraine and Russia. Made it out of metal, granite and bronze and is a figure with two compositions (height - 6.2 m) working - Russian and Ukrainian, which lifted up the tape, together with the Order of Friendship of Peoples ".

Some distance away - outstretched horizontally stele with multi-group, which focuses - Bohdan Khmelnytsky and Boyar - Russian ambassador. This group was created after the historic events that occurred on 8 (18) January 1654 - Pereyaslavska Rada.

Sculptural group connects arch-rainbow "People's Friendship Arch", which plan sponsors must symbolize the unity of the fraternal peoples.

The impression of a "travesty" of the monument enhanced by the fact that the area in front of the monument has the shape of an amphitheater. For the monument is an observation deck with stunning views of the Dnieper and the Left Bank.
