Euro-2012 will help Ukrainian people to give up smoking
The Ministry of Health of Ukraine till 2012 will create 30 centers for smoking cessation, said Deputy Director of the Department of State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Ministry of Health Alla Grigorenko.
These centers are established in the framework of state targeted social programs to reduce the harmful effects of tobacco on health for the period until 2012.
According to preliminary calculations, the programs of assistance to smokers take about 1.5 mln. hrivnas. Care centers tobacco, will be organized on the basis of drug treatment clinics.
There are already several such centers in Ukraine. Those who wish to quit smoking can contact the centers for smoking cessation, located in Kyiv, Lutsk, Donetsk and Cherkasy.
Recall now the Cabinet of Ministers is considering the introduction of pictures, horror stories on cigarette packs to discourage smokers from cigarettes. In the fight against smoking MOH also calls to raise prices on tobacco products.
